Last year, a friend of mine asked if Linda Evangelista is a colleague of mine :D (I mean if she is an Evangelist working with Adobe). Unfortunately, Ben Forta doesn’t want to push our technology on the catwalk (I really don’t understand why, I mean what is wrong with a sexy technology to be on a catwalk?), and thus we don’t have supermodels, only super evangelists.
In case you missed these articles, here is a list with the latest:

This Saturday one dream came true: the first Flex Camp in Romanian city other than Bucharest (we had three camps in Bucharest in the past two years). Statistics of the event:
- 110+ attendees (majority were students in Computer Science)
- 32 pupils for the AIR Boot Camp
- 6 sessions (four delivered by the three Romanian evangelists, two by people from Timisoara)
- 7.5 hours
I very much enjoyed being there, presenting, talking with old friends from Mindomo.com, and meeting new friends. A little while ago Alexandru Ghiura started the first Adobe User Group in Timisoara. If you want to find out more, just go to http://groups.adobe.com and search for Timisoara, and you will find the group’s page. If you are interested in Flex/Flash/AIR and you live in Timisoara, then I strongly encourage you to join the group (it doesn’t matter if you are a newbie or a senior Flash developer). Alexandru has some plans to start introductory courses on Flex (these courses will be free of charge).
The people from Mindomo.com that helped us to convince the University of West to allow us to have our camp on their campus, deserve a lot more than our thanks! Depending on the people’s reaction, university support, and the local Adobe User Group, it is possible that we will come back with a new event this year.
And lastly, Cluj where are you?

Piotr and I will give a session in Gdansk, Poland on March 28th. The event will take place at the local University. If you live nearby and want to attend the event, just send me an email, and I will give you more details.
I have to take off my hat to the people from IT Six and the students from the local university in Craiova (a city in Romania), where we had a Flash Platform event today. Miti presented two hours session on the Flash Platform, and I did a two hour AIR Boot Camp. The attendees were all students.
IT Six organized the event. They offered their space (which was excellent), they gave us about 12 computers for the Boot Camp and a Sys Admin to install everything we needed. And of course we had coffee and pizza. Thank you Mr. Sorin Gavanescu!
This is not the end of our collaboration, as we are planning to have some Connect sessions just for Romania in the near future. So keep an eye on my blog, if you are interested in attending some online sessions.
This was a nice surprise. Bravo Craiova! I certainly didn’t expect to find the level of support and large number of people interested in a technical event and in supporting it, especially because we have tried in much bigger university centers and much bigger cities with limited success.
PS. to all attendees: please get in contact with IT Six, they have the presentations and projects and they will make them available on the Internet. Also we will ship over there some Flash/Flex/AIR stickers soon. And if you have questions or comments, don’t hesitate to send me an email (mihai dot corlan at adobe dot com).

The call for sessions and labs for MAX 2009 is officially open. Anyone who wants to be a speaker at this event should submit their proposals here. The call for papers will be open until April 15th, 2009. By May 15th, 2009 we want to have all the speakers, labs, and sessions selected.
This year’s MAX will take place in Los Angeles, California on October 4th-7th 2009. See you there!
Another segment has been released on Adobe TV, this time on how to generate a Flex and J2EE Database Application. I was a little bit sleepy and tired after three and a half days of MAX :D. I show how to create such applications using the data wizard, or LiveCycle Data Services and SQL Assembler. Enjoy!
